"After praying to Naaraayana, Nara, Sarasvathi and Vyaasa, then one should read the Jayam."
Sabhaa-parva is the second of the 18 main parvas. Many important incidents
that occurred in the courts or halls were the essence of this parva. E.g.,
- Naarada's talk to the Paandavas in their court. His describing
the sabhha-s ( court hall-s) of the deities of the eight directions.
- The court hall of Paandavas for the Raajasooya sacrifice and Shishupaala's diatribe against Krishna leading to the former's end.
- The Maya hall of the Paandavas and Duryodhana's plight in it.
This incised the ego of the already jealousy Duryodhana.
- Kouravas' dice game hall and the unhappy incidents occurred therein.
