Yuyuthsu was the son of Dhritharaashtra born of a vyshya woman. He was a just and calm person. Though he was a cousin to Duryodhana, he joined Yudhishthira just before the war began . He survived the war and lived with the paandavas. Yudhishthira performed last rituals to the kouravas and Dhritharaashtra with Yuyuthsu beside him. Yudhishthira treated him with regard and entrsted him some duties in the administration and other affairs under his rule. He remained in the capital even after the paandavas renounced.
