SHYKHAAVATHYA

( The 'SH' in this name is pronounced like one between 's' in 'sip' and 'sh' in 'she', Y like 'y' in 'my' , TH like 'th' in 'with' and the last Y like 'y' in 'you'.)

Shykhaavathya was a sage. He took pity on Amba, the princess of Kaashi provinces, when she was rejected by her lover Saalva and thereby took to the hermitages in a distressed mood. He sheltered her and discussed her case with his co-hermits. It was then that a former king and a royal sage Hothravaahana came there and advised her to take the help of Parashuraama.
