SANJAYA (A Prince )

(The S in this name is pronounced like 's' in 'sip'. Y is pronounced like 'y' in 'you'.)

See the links 'vidula' and 'sanjaya' too.

Sanjaya was a prince of the souveera dynasty. (Another person of the same name was the well known Sanjaya, a close and confidant associate of Dhritharaashtra. See the links 'vidula' and 'sanjaya' too.).

Sanjaya was son of a coronated queen vidula. Once he was defeated by his neighbouring Sindhu king and lay in distress. Then, his mother Vidula, encouraged him by goading with piercing words to arouse his pride and anger. He felt ashamed of his distress and ran onto his enemies and routed them to defeat.

Kunthi told this episode to Krisha to relate to paandavas so that they will be scintilated by that speech and take revenge on their arch rival cousins.

But, the famous Thelugu translation left this nice episode all together.
