RYVATHAKA

( The 'Y' in this name is pronounced like 'y' in 'my' and 'TH' like 'th' in 'with'.)

Ryvathaka is one of the wellknown hills. This hill lies near Dvaaraka. At the Mahaabhaaratham time, the Yaadavas celebrate an annual festival at this hill. The festival is named after the hill as Ryvathaka festival. By the time Krishna returned from Paandavas after the war, this ryvathaka festival was going on, according to Ashvamedha parva.

"After praying to Naaraayana, Nara, Sarasvathi and Vyaasa, then one should recite the Jayam."
