Meru is a divine mountain, It is the abode of all gods. It is aid that the Sun revolves around it. The scholars saythat this mountain is not visible to normal mortals. Meru's daughter Menaka is wife of mountain god Himavaan (Himaalaya).
Modern scholars opined that the north pole itself is Meru.
