KESHINI or SUKESHI

( The SH in this name is pronounced like one between 's' in 'sip' and 'sh' in 'ship' . the N is pronounced like 'n' in 'nil' .)

Keshini (Sukeshi) was mentioned in Udyoga parva, by Vidura, while he was talking to dhritharaashtra. Keshini was a young lady. No other details are given. A demon Virochana and a braahmana Sudhanva both went to marry her. When a question asto who of them was superior, braahmana or demon, each claimed his own superiority. At last, the issue was taken to Virochana's father Prahlaada. Prahlaada did not show any partiality and said that Sudhanva was superior to his son. Prahlaada was the son of the terrible demon Hiranyakashipu. Virochna's son was the famous donor Bali.

Vidura quoted this story to prevail upon dhritharaashtra to make him stick to truthfulness in case of paandavas.
