Harivamsham means lineage of Krishna ( Hari=Krishna, vamsham=dynasty> . A book of around 25000 shlokas with this name is considered to be the appendix of the Mahaabhaaratham. Thus this is called the khila-parva, meaning appendix. Many readers continue the study of Mahaabhaaratham till the end of this Harivamsham.
Harivamsham consists of three parvas Harivamsha parva, Bhavishya parva (Some count three, adding one more -Khila parva). This book mainly describes some part of Krishna's life that was not dealt with in detail in the main epic. Taken together with this Harivamsham , the Mahaabhaaratham runs to a whopping 1 25 000 shlokas.
We plan to attach to this document, an appendix of translation of Harivamsham too, but that will be taken after the entire main text was translated.
