DAMBHODBHAVA

Also see the links 'nara' and 'naaraayana'.

( The D and D in this name are pronounced like 'th' in 'brother'. The BH and BH are pronounced like a hardened sound of 'b' in 'bore'. )

Dambhodbhava was a powerful emperror of very ancient times. Sage Parashuraama told his story to Dhritharaashtra and Duryodhana (in udyoga parva).

Dambhodbhava was very proud of his might . He asked all the while whomever he comes across about any matching hand to him in might and valour. Once a braahmana displeased with his pride and arrogance suggested that the sages Nara and Naaraayana were his match. The king took all the pains and went to mount Gandhamaadanam to challenge them for a fight. Despite Nara's persuasion to desist from the challebge, he persisted . Nara became angry and threw a fistful of grass at him which turned into a shower of unbearable shower of weapons of alll kinds. Accepting his defeat, king Dambhodbhava returned.

Mightier than the mighty always exist. They are just to be found. That is all.
