"After praying to Naaraayana, Nara, Sarasvathi and Vyaasa, then one should read the Jayam."

DEDICATED TO MY DEAR NIECE VYSHNAVI KRISHNA

AKRITHAVRANA

( The 'KRI' in this name is pronounced witha the peculiar vowel sound of RI, like 'kri' in 'krishna', TH like 'th' in 'with' and the last N like 'n' turn'.)

See also the link 'sumaha'

Akrithavrana was a sage. He was also known as Sumaha. He was a close associate and driver of Parashuraama. When he saw Amba in Shykhaavathya's hermitage, he assured her of Parashuraama's help and even encouraged Raama to take up her cause. He actually held the reigns of Parashuraama's chariot in his war with Bheeshma.

When the paandavas were in the forests , Akrithavrana told them the biography of Parashuraama.
