( The word 'aanushaasanika' means 'of anushaasana(=teaching or guiding)'. In this parva, the entire story is just about Bheeshma's teaching to Yudhishthira on various subjects ranging from regal administration to salvation. At the end, occurs the very popular subject vishnusahasranaama and a little bit less popular shivasahasranaama too. Bheeshma's going to his original abode is finely descrribed in the end. A true reader of the epic is interested in these two parvas viz. Shaanthi and Aanushaasanika for their richness in philosophy and thought.
