Vasudeva was Krishna's father. ( Note: Hence, Krishna's name Vaasudeva. Note the long aa .)
Vasudeva was a Yaadava chief. He was son of Shoora. Devaki and Rohini were his two principal wives ( There were many others.).Krishna was born to Devaki and Balaraama was born to Rohini. Vasudeva's younger sister Kunthi (Pritha) was Paandavas'mother. That makes Vasudeva the maternal uncle of Paandavas.
Vasudeva died a few days after Krishna's departure.
